American Nurses Association-Maine Welcomes Ryan M. Drinkwater to Board of Directors as Undergraduate Representative

Orono, Maine
The American Nurses Association-Maine (ANA-Maine) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan M. Drinkwater to its Board of Directors as Undergraduate Representative. Ryan brings a strong record of student leadership, clinical experience, and a deep commitment to advancing nursing across Maine.
Ryan is currently a nursing student in the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at Eastern Maine Community College, where he is expected to graduate in 2026. He serves as President of the Eastern Maine Community College Student Nurse and Alumni Association and as the Class of 2026 Nursing Student Representative. His leadership and academic excellence have been recognized through scholarship awards from both the National Student Nurses’ Association and ANA-Maine.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Ryan works as an Emergency Department Technician and Telemetry Technician, bringing more than a decade of healthcare experience spanning long-term care, acute care, clinical education, and healthcare administration. His previous roles include Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, Diagnostic Cardiology Technician, and Residential Care Administrator, providing him with a broad understanding of patient care and healthcare operations across diverse settings.
Ryan’s professional interests center on rural healthcare and emergency nursing. Following graduation, he plans to begin his career as a registered nurse in the emergency department, with long-term aspirations to pursue nursing education while maintaining active clinical practice. His commitment to service, leadership development, and engagement with the next generation of nurses aligns closely with ANA-Maine’s mission to advance the nursing profession and improve health outcomes statewide.
Ryan is from Lincoln, Maine, where he resides with his fiancé, Dustin, and their three cats. Outside of his professional and academic commitments, he enjoys spending time with family at camp in Patten and traveling.
ANA-Maine looks forward to Ryan’s contributions and leadership in supporting the organization’s strategic priorities and strengthening the future of nursing across the state.
